Microsoft aggressively courts Yahoo.
Yahoo bats eyelashes and then slaps Microsoft across the face.
Yahoo turns around and puts arm around AOL.
What do these companies all have in common? Their flagship products are “user-friendly” to the point of lameness. They are the clutter-overloading, resource-hogging, format-monopolizing gateway drugs of technology. They cater to the new user by telling the new user what they need and (frequently) sending the new user in frustrating directions.
They belong together, and they can take each other down together.
Just please, give us back our Flickr. I don’t know how it got into that mess. I’d really like it back now. Thank you.
